When difference in size not apparent, most easily separated from "Lesser Flamingo" by the bill colour which is pale pink with a contrasting black tip in Adult (greyish in juv); in flight by entire underwing coverts red and proportionately longer neck. Jheels, shallow brackish lakes, lagoons, saltpans.
